Position Overview

Rennco is searching for an Associate Buyer who will contribute to the company’s success by actively participating in specific purchasing functions with a positive attitude and great work ethic. The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate well with others and always display professionalism.

Essential Job Functions – Associate Buyer
  • Reviews all purchase requirements in the ERP workbench daily as directed.
  • Purchase prescribed routine raw materials, semi‑finished goods, finished parts, supplies and/or equipment ensuring that all quality, delivery, and specification requirements are met.
  • Process the approved purchase requisitions as appropriate.
  • Gather quotes from various vendors/suppliers on requested parts, equipment and/or supplies.
  • Negotiate prices on a limited basis as directed.
  • Maintain and update active purchase orders.
  • Expedite purchase orders at the direction of management.
  • Research and qualify new vendors as required.
  • Assist in the measurement and reporting of cost increases, reductions, and avoidances as directed.
  • Participate in the Inventory Management process aimed at planning and controlling inventory levels.
  • Update spreadsheets, review and analyze purchasing data as directed.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2‑year technical degree or 3+ years in a purchasing and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Problem‑solving skills, analytical, and reasoning ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to interpret instructions whether written, spoken, or in a diagram.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage files and records effectively.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP software a plus.
