Operations Manager, Production Manager

Responsible for the overall production activities of salt, production steam and power generation, and associated operations to ensure quality standards and operating consistency.
Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure that all Environmental, Health, & Safety Regulations are followed throughout the departments.
- Responsible for the overall operations of steam, power, brine, crystalizers and dryers.
- Direct the activities of the Production Supervisors.
- Provide the technical knowledge required to maintain efficient operations and make improvements in the processes.
- Administer Collective Bargaining Agreement and plant policies.
- Direct all maintenance performed in Power & Production Departments.
- Provide required safety and operations training.
- Prepare and/or assist with capital projects associated with steam, power, brine, crystalizers and dryers.
- Coordinate operations with other departments to ensure quality standards and operating consistency.
- Must troubleshoot process and equipment problems and take necessary corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure the awareness of customer requirements throughout the facility.
- Complete special assignments as directed.
- Responsible for the compliance of all Food Safety Program requirements. Inform General Manager and QC Manager of any issues, understanding the importance of product quality, integrity, safety and legality.
- Is familiar with the Environmental Management System policy, procedures or work instructions and understands the potential consequences of departure of the requirement. Notify management of any observed or potential compliance issues or nonconformities.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain all records as required and is familiar with the principles of the Food Safety Program. Inform the General Manager of any issues and understands the importance of product quality, integrity, safety, and legality.
Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years manufacturing experience.
- Three to five years of supervisory experience.
- One to three years of boiler operations experience preferred.
- Strong communication and effective interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
The work setting consists of a production environment with variations in temperature and noise levels. Proper PPE is required when working in the production environment.
