Work hours:
Day Shift, 6:00 or 6:30 AM start, Mon-Fri, 40hr work week (overtime as required)
Must be able to commute to New Hudson every day.
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling and installing vehicle components and subassemblies, ensuring they meet high-quality and safety standards. This role varies depending on the type of vehicle being assembled (prototype vs production). Ideal candidates will have experience in manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble vehicle components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, work orders, and process instructions
Ensure that each vehicle meets Pratt Millers quality standards
Perform detailed inspections to verify the accuracy and functionality of each assembly
Work with a close-knit team of engineers, designers, fabricators, and mechanics to meet departmental goals and deadlines efficiently
Maintain detailed documentation of progress, ensuring work is clearly tracked and any issues are promptly addressed
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Ensure work environment and processes adhere to outlined safety regulations
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings and process instructions
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proficiency with common hand tools and equipment
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing world-class products
Dependable & punctual, with reliable mode of transportation
Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends if necessary to meet deadlines.
Education / Certification / Years of ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalent required
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Desired Skills & KnowledgePrior experience in low volume, prototype level vehicle assembly or related manufacturing environments
Prior vehicle repair, diagnostic, and troubleshooting experience
Basic metalworking/fabrication skills
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Knowledge of vehicle-related pneumatic and/or cooling systems
Knowledge of HV electrical vehicle systems
