Off Shift Maintenance Technician at Cooper Standard

Responsible for maintenance of injection molding machines, facility equipment, building maintenance and repairs. This will be an off‑shift position, and the technician will undergo training on the first shift.

• High School Diploma required. Mechanical or Electrical degree preferred.
• Previous machine maintenance/repair experience and knowledge of electrical, air and hydraulic schematics preferred.
• Knowledge of 120, 240- and 480-volt electrical applications.

• Promotes an atmosphere conscience of health, safety, and environmental practices in support of plant HSE/EMS policies.
• Performs daily job duties to the objectives outlined in the Quality Policy, supporting plant goals and quality objectives.
• Communicates status of machine demand maintenance items with operators and team leader to ensure safe operation and logical throughput.
• Consults with maintenance personnel, team leader and engineering regarding machine downtime issues.
• Responsible for demand and preventive maintenance.
• Reports and repairs safety issues, completes daily maintenance logs for shift demand maintenance.
• Assists with repairs/maintenance within the facility and improves the knowledge base.
• Assists in building new equipment. Other duties as assigned.

• Able to estimate downtime required to repair equipment, enabling production leader to adjust schedules.
• Judgment to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Ability to use power tools and operate powered lift equipment.
• Experience with welding/carpentry is preferred, but not required.

• Lifting and moving objects up to 70 lbs.
• Able to climb, bend, twist, stoop, walk, push cart and work off ground in high areas.
• Requires precautionary detail when working with electrical processes.

• Must be able to work overtime on very short notice.
• Flexible to overtime when deemed necessary.
