What we’re looking for

We are looking to add some new Team Members to fill manufacturing positions at Metalworks in Ludington. Whether you are a seasoned manufacturing professional or a newcomer to the industry looking to make an impact, you can find the right job for you.

Responsibilities
  • Operate various press brakes and equipment to fabricate materials
  • Apply powered paint to finished metal goods
  • Coordinate hanging and takeoff of painted parts
  • Welding and grinding of subcomponents
  • Basic assembly of cabinets and adherence to quality requirements

    General Labor starts $16.00

What your general duties will be

Our Production Team Members learn a lot of different skills. An example of one of the roles involves receiving painted products from the paint line and matching them with purchased components from our warehouse. The 4 main steps of the assembly process are:

  • Sub-Assembly:
    Begin the process with assembly and label placement on the cabinet, then send to the builder by conveyor system.
  • Drawer Person:
    Combine the front and drawer bin for the cabinet and send to the builder.
  • Builder:
    Finish the assembly process and install the drawers.
  • Packaging:
    Box the product using a vacuum hoist and skidded then send to Shipping.
  • What you’ll learn as part of your job
    • read, understand and follow Standard Work Chart and any job instructions
    • highlight sub items on travelers with guidance provided
    • use safe and correct techniques for installing components and tools
    • operate air-activated tools and equipment to assemble products
    • read, inspect, and monitor production quality to approved standards
    • read Bills of Material and identify correct components
    • verify cabinet and painted part colors against travelers
    • demonstrate knowledge of component storage locations and installation techniques
    • perform quality checks on different work surfaces
    • maintain standard levels of performance to meet production rates
    • perform routine cleaning to maintain workstation cleanliness per 5S
    • package products prior to shipment
    • Learn any other additional duties as assigned
