Overview

As the Golf Course General Manager, you'll have a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from managing the golf course to overseeing our bar, kitchen, and banquet operations. Your role will ensure the club's growth, profitability, and reputation for excellence in all areas.

Responsibilities
  • Overall Operations Management:
    Supervise and manage all day-to-day operations of the golf course. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Staff Management:
    Recruit, train, and manage golf course staff, including groundskeepers, pro shop staff, and other personnel. Schedule staff and ensure adequate coverage for all areas of the golf course.
  • Customer Service:
    Ensure a high level of customer service for golfers and guests. Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management:
    Develop and manage the annual budget for the golf course. Monitor expenses and revenue, and make adjustments as necessary to meet financial goals.
  • Marketing and Promotion:
    Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain golfers. Coordinate with the marketing team to promote events, tournaments, and special offerings.
  • Tournaments and Events:
    Plan and coordinate golf tournaments, events, and outings. Work with event organizers to ensure smooth execution.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. Implement and oversee safety protocols for staff and customers.
  • Membership Management:
    Manage golf club memberships, including renewals and new member recruitment. Develop and implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with Golf Professionals:
    Work closely with golf professionals to coordinate lessons, clinics, and other instructional programs.
  • Facilities Management:
    Oversee the maintenance of all golf course facilities, including the clubhouse, pro shop, and other amenities.
  • Community and Stakeholder Relations:
    Build positive relationships with the local community, golf organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay Informed:
    Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in golf course management.

A successful Golf Course General Manager should possess strong leadership and organizational skills, a deep understanding of golf operations, and the ability to create a positive and welcoming environment for both staff and customers.

Experience Required

Several years in the industry. PGA or PGM would be great but not required.
