CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Technical Writer I.

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Hemlock, MI

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M–F, 8:00am–5:00pm

Education: Associate degree or higher (see below)

The Technical Writer I is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving technical documentation to support business processes, systems, and procedures. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to gather information, translate technical content into user-friendly documentation, and ensure consistency and accuracy across all materials.

• Develop, write, edit, and format technical documentation including process manuals, system specifications, guidelines, and procedure manuals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret documentation requirements
• Standardize content across platforms and media to ensure consistency and clarity
• Review and edit existing documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established standards
• Work closely with project teams to understand product and process details and develop appropriate documentation
• Translate complex technical terminology into clear, user-friendly language
• Conduct periodic reviews and updates to ensure documentation reflects current processes and changes

• Associate degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field OR currently enrolled in one of these programs at an accredited college or university

• 2–5 years of experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role within a technical environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation
• Proficiency with MS Office and documentation tools
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
