Job Description
:
The IT Manager is responsible for setting vision and direction, enabling the Seats & Motion Division to achieve strategic technology and business objectives using the 80/20 IT Framework. The IT Manager makes decisions concerning strategic initiatives through a demonstrated ability to use broad-based business information and knowledge. The IT Manager ensures all activities related to Information Technology are coordinated, effective, and secure through proper oversight and guidance.

The IT Manager's role is to provide the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the organization's business objectives. The IT Manager will work closely with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities to use knowledge and technology to improve business processes, promote the appropriate strategic use of information, and enable the workforce to use data and technology safely and securely.

The IT Manager is responsible for leading the Seats & Motion’s technology strategy, overseeing day-to-day IT operations, and driving major system initiatives—most critically, the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of the Seats & Motion’s ERP system. This role ensures that IT solutions align with business goals, improve operational efficiency, and support future organizational growth. The IT Manager must be a driven, self‑starter with excellent leadership and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning
  • Partners with Division Controller and actively participates with leadership in strategy development and operational planning for the Division.
  • Partners on long‑range and annual plan development, identifies implications for IT strategy and recommends support for longer‑term business growth.
  • Leads the IT Department's operational and strategic planning, fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • Uses the ITW Toolbox (80/20, USa, etc.) to analyze the Division's workflows and identify simplification opportunities, working with end‑users to implement solutions.
Acquisition & Deployment
  • Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
  • Manages financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
  • Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Develops and implements all IT policies and procedures, including architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Negotiates and administers vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
Operational Management
  • Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Oversees provision of end‑user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Works with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Keeps current with the latest technologies.
  • Practices asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Is accountable for ensuring the Division complies with the Corporate ITW Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Actively oversees Cyber Security and Risk and ensures appropriate activities are identified and resources deployed for the risk level.
ERP System Implementation & Management
  • Leads full‑lifecycle ERP implementation, including requirements gathering, vendor selection, planning, configuration, testing, training, go‑live, and post‑implementation support.
  • Collaborates with department heads to define business processes and translate them into ERP system requirements.
  • Manages ERP project timelines, budgets, risks, and cross‑functional resources.
  • Oversees data migration strategy to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and minimal downtime.
