Job Title: HR, Safety & Training Coordinator
Location: Dowagiac, Michigan (Fully Onsite)
Salary Range: $50,000 – $70,000 per year (depending on experience)
We are seeking a hands-on HR, Safety & Training Coordinator to join our team in Dowagiac, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats. The position will be responsible for recruitment, developing and leading safety initiatives, and building a structured training program for employees.
This individual will play a key role in supporting workforce growth while ensuring employees are trained, safe, and prepared to perform their roles effectively. The position requires someone who is comfortable moving quickly between recruiting, safety oversight, and employee training responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Talent SupportManage full-cycle recruitment including sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating hiring for open positions
Partner with leadership to understand staffing needs and build candidate pipelines
Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires
Support employee engagement and retention initiatives
Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety policies and procedures
Promote a strong safety culture across the organization
Ensure compliance with applicable workplace safety regulations
Conduct safety inspections, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
Assist with incident investigations and reporting
Build and maintain a structured employee training program
Lead and coordinate CPR training for employees
Develop safety training materials and conduct regular safety meetings
Track and maintain training records and certifications
Partner with leadership to identify additional training needs
Experience in recruiting, safety coordination, HR, or training roles
Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and shift between responsibilities quickly
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience developing or managing safety or training programs preferred
OSHA certification is highly preferred
Forklift certification or operator experience is a plus
CPR training certification or willingness to obtain certification
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic HR systems
