Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to join our Pleasanton, California (CA) office on their HR team! This is an in-office position.

Responsibilities
  • Act as strategic advisor to partners, providing expert guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and performance management, ensuring alignment with organizational culture and values.
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop proactive strategies for enhancing workplace culture.
  • Partner in the facilitation of annual HR processes to include classification and salary review, bonus programs and performance development.
  • Partner with leadership in supporting integration efforts for employees joining the firm at different stages of their career from college hires to senior practice partners.
  • Drive initiatives that promote Kimley-Horn culture, employee engagement, morale, productivity and retention.
  • Work with partners in the support and facilitation of employee leaves of absences, ADA Accommodations and workers’ compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and proactively mitigate potential risks.
  • Collect and analyze data through various HRIS and other platforms to make recommendations that support continuous improvement.
  • Partner in the development and delivery of various training initiatives to include training facilitation.
  • Work collaboratively with HR team members within the region, as well as across the organization to ensure best practices are shared and implemented across all locations.
  • Mentor HR professionals and provide coaching to enhance team effectiveness.

  • Strong foundational knowledge of HR Management practices and principles to include CA employment law.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in Human Resources, or related field
  • At least 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in an HR generalist capacity, including experience leading employee relations, conflict resolution and investigations
  • Previous experience supporting employees across multiple offices and geographies strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, to support the needs of the region.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to learn HRIS system.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
  • Previous experience with Ulti Pro UKG preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting professional services/consulting firm preferred.

Salary Range: $100,000-$135,000
