Overview

KLK Executive Solutions has been retained to recruit for the following position:

CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER (CHRO)

PRESQUE ISLE ELECTRIC AND GAS COOPERATIVE in Onaway, MI is currently searching for a highly experienced and strategic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The CHRO is a strategic partner on the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the human resources function. The CHRO will lead the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the cooperative s mission, values, and business objectives.

This role encompasses talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and compliance with all employment laws and regulations.

The CHRO will supervise the HR Generalist and the Safety Director. The Safety Director in turn supervises the Safety Coordinator and Underground Locating department.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with the cooperative s mission and objectives. Oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and regulatory compliance.

Act as a strategic partner on the executive leadership team to advance organizational effectiveness. Supervise HR Generalist and Safety Director (who supervises the Safety Coordinator and Underground Locating department).

Education and Experience

Bachelor s degree in human resources, business administration, occupational safety, or a related field. Master s degree preferred. 10 years of progressive HR experience with 5+ years at a managerial or executive level.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certification highly desired
