Overview

Harbour View Inn is situated on Main Street on historic Mackinac Island. With 80% of the island protected by a Michigan State Park, the island offers outdoor recreational activities and a vibrant business and tourism industry. Mackinac Island is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest. There are no cars on the island; transportation is by bike, foot, or horse.

The inn employs approximately 30 people over the summer season from early May through October.

We are looking for energetic staff who enjoy meeting people from different parts of the country and other cultures.

Dining Room Attendant. 3 temporary, full-time positions. 4/1/26 - 11/5/26. HIS - Mackinac, Inc. d/b/a Harbour View Inn located in Mackinac Island, MI.

• Prepare and set up the entire dining room area prior to service.
• Keep all table items replenished and maintain cleanliness of tables and dining areas during service. After service, clean public areas and service areas where food is served, including sweeping, mopping floors, and cleaning surfaces.
• Shift schedule:
  Mon-Sun, 7am-3pm & 3pm-11pm, 6 days per week. Days off and shifts vary. 35 hrs per week. OT varies.
• No minimum education or experience required.
• Must lift 30 lbs.
• Post-employment criminal background check and drug testing upon employer’s reasonable suspicion of drug use.

• Wage: $14.65/hour, OT varies at $21.98/hour.
• Workers paid bi-weekly.
• Optional lodging available at $90/week, to be deducted from pay if elected. Optional board & lodging available at $135/week, to be deducted from pay if elected. Housing deposit of $150 due upon arrival.
• On-the-job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at the company’s sole discretion, based on performance, skill and tenure. Single workweek used to compute wages. All legally required deductions will be made.
• If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion or dismissal, the employer will pay reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence, with conditions noted in the original job posting.
• Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $12.68/day during travel up to a maximum of $55.00/day with receipts. H2B workers reimbursed in the first workweek for visa-related fees.
• Employer will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job and guarantees to offer hours equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 12-week period of total employment.
