About the Opportunity

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive clinical care to patients in a designated service or program area. The NP partners with and complements other members of the health care team to achieve person- and family-centered care. The NP, as the most responsible healthcare provider (MRHCP), works autonomously to diagnose, order and interpret laboratory tests, order and interpret diagnostic imaging investigations, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform procedures.

The NP provides direct care and partners with the health care team for the most appropriate and timely care, whether working autonomously or in collaboration with others. The NP monitors the physical/biologic, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients and integrates these into holistic care plans, engaging with family, community, and other agencies/services as appropriate.

The NP adheres to the NSCN Standards for Nursing Practice and the Code of Ethics and remains accountable for their own practice consistent with relevant legislation and professional and ethical standards. The NP identifies, analyzes, and evaluates activities reflective of quality improvement initiatives.
