The Patient Services Representative (Phlebotomist) serves as the front-facing representative for patients, providing high-quality specimen collection services while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and patient comfort. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills across patient populations and the ability to perform confidently in high-volume clinical and hospital environments
.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and professionally.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
. - Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to patient confidentiality.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Work assignments may include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
- 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Proven ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
. - Strong customer service focus and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation (bus, Uber, or rideshare not considered reliable transportation
). - Must arrive on time, work assigned schedules, and complete full shifts;
excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated
. - Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Willingness to work across multiple locations with minimal notice
. - Commitment to company policies, dress code, health & safety standards, and Everyday Excellence principles.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
