** Title
* * Lead CT Technologist - Full Time 80 Hrs/Pp - BSH/BLHReporting to the Technical Manager/Radiology, provides necessary supervision of CT, assigns work, and prepares work schedules. Serves as the contact person for other departments. Performs all clinical and clerical duties of a CT Radiographer, and performs other related duties as assigned. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
As of 8/14/2022:
Associate's degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and 3-5 years of experience required
ARRT CT certification. CPR Certification current

Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less) and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving patients.
Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required.
• Acts as team leader, providing supervision necessary for smooth operation of a combined staff from both sites.
• Assigns work and is responsible for or delegates work schedule preparation.
• Communicates approved policies and procedures to subordinates and ensures compliance. Recommends changes to policies and procedures when necessary and may participate in the development and implementation of such changes.
• Responsible for additional coverage as needed to cover absent staff or increased work load. Adjusts staff according to work load.
• Reports problems related to staffing, morale, work methods, procedures, and transfers, and recommends action in all personnel matters for assigned staff.
• Works with Technical Manager on hiring, orientation, training, and developing new hires. Evaluates performance and when necessary recommends discipline and discharge.
• Coordinates educational and development activities for staff members. Provides in-service training in new techniques and equipment. Ensures that staff members have the necessary clinical, employment, administrative, and hospital information to perform their routine duties.
• Monitors all radiation safety procedures and ensures that all procedures are performed in accordance with applicable regulatory, accrediting, and governmental safety standards.
• Compiles and analyzes quality assurance/quality control data according to departmental procedures, or may delegate these activities to subordinates as needed.
• Obtains patient history and other pre-scan information through review of records and additional examinations (BUN, creatinine, standard radiographs, etc.) and patient interview. Consults with radiologist on proper protocol for each exam. Coordinates and communicates activities with other Radiology areas.
