Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled clinician to join our Access Center team. This part‑time position focuses on providing timely and effective mental health services to children and adults through clinical screening, crisis intervention, and utilization management.

Schedule: Up to 32 hours/week | Flexible days | Occasional after‑hours

Pay Range: $20.76 – $35.31/hour (based on experience)

• Conduct evaluations and screenings for mental health, co‑occurring disorders, and substance use.
• Authorize services and complete length‑of‑stay reviews for inpatient hospitalization or crisis residential placement.
• Provide assessments at the local hospital emergency department during business hours as needed.
• Offer telephone and walk‑in crisis intervention, triage, and referral services.
• Expedite access to outpatient/community‑based treatment through intake assessments.

• Strong clinical diagnostic, assessment, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and make independent, clinically sound decisions.
• Experience managing crisis situations and coordinating follow‑up care plans.

• Bachelor’s in Social Work with Michigan Licensure (LBSW).
• Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology with Michigan Licensure (LLMSW, LMSW, LLP, LMFT, LLPC, LLC).
• Valid Michigan driver’s license required.

• Flexibility to work varying days is preferred.
• Occasional after‑hours work may be required for psychiatric hospital placements.
• NHSC‑qualified site.
