Cost Accountant - Mattawan Area

Salary Range: $70,000 - $104,000 depending on experience

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Perform inventory valuation and reconcile physical inventory counts to the general ledger.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis for material, labor, and overhead, identifying root causes.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing cost data and analysis.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close activities related to cost of goods sold and inventory.
• Evaluate product profitability and provide insights to management for pricing and product decisions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods, and GAAP.
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Advanced Excel skills (VBA, Power Query, or Power Pivot).
• Experience with ERP system implementation or module configuration (e.g., SAP CO).
• Involvement in capital expenditure analysis or new product costing projects.
