Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who will oversee the company's financial records and accounting personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls related to the company's financial accounts.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local government agencies
• Acts as the point of contact for external auditors
• Maintains internal books and finances
• Analyzes financial transactions
• Prepares supporting documents for the annual financial reports and annual tax return with outside CPA firm
• Prepares documents supporting the monthly close process and month-end balances
• Reviews monthly accounting close process, including analytical review of the monthly operating results, ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained
• Supervises the maintenance of fixed asset records
• Oversees the physical inventory process for two Michigan locations
• Manages and develops direct reports
• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget
• Assists in maintaining records for retirement accounts

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 - 7 years of related experience as a Financial Manager
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
• Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Strong Financial Reporting and GAAP knowledge
• Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of specialized accounting software such as Sage Fixed Assets software and Microsoft Dynamics General Ledger software
• CPA or CMA certification
• Cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
