CNB is looking for a qualified, motivated, and client- and team-focused individual to join our team as an ON-SITE Loss Mitigation Specialist in our Hillsdale, Main Office location.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for collecting consumer and real estate loan past due payments and charged-off checking accounts and advises loan officers of collection problems. This is a Full-Time position with hours scheduled Monday – Friday.

DUTIES
  • Processes and mails out past due notices, as needed.
  • Reviews printouts of all past due consumer & real estate accounts.
  • Contacts debtors via phone, letters and personal visits.
  • Documents debtor contacts via collection module.
  • Advises borrowers on available workout options and resources.
  • Orders property inspections on delinquent loans.
  • Advises original lender/branch manager of collection activities, should “problem” exist.
  • Orders and processes repossession documents.
  • Writes Demand Letters with original lender’s approval.
  • Prepares charge‑offs, small claims documents, civil suit documents, garnishment and lien forms for loans and checking accounts.
  • Prepares maintenance sheets for change of address, phone, etc., and runs skip tracing, as needed.
  • Updates past due loans for the board report.
  • Represents bank in small claims suits.
  • Prepares monthly reporting to Freddie Mac, USDA, HAMP, PMI, and etc.
  • Performs post close risk review or monitoring of all consumer files, including HELOC’s (the individual performing the post‑close review monitoring must not be the same.)
  • Performs weekly consumer and mortgage loan delinquency review.
  • Performs exceptions review of consumer loans.
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality of client information.
  • Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
  • Remains current in assigned training and continuing education for designation retention (online, video, in‑house emails, telephone seminars, etc.)
  • Complies with all regulatory requirements including Bank Secrecy Act and all others specific to their position.
  • Performs other various duties as assigned.

  • Communicates on a regular basis with lenders.
  • Communicates frequently with other staff members, as needed.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS – EXTERNAL
  • Communicates on a regular basis with clients.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous bank experience is preferred.
