The Relationship Banker develops and cultivates long-term client relationships by providing insight, advice, and personalized financial solutions. Responsibilities include retaining and deepening existing client relationships through cross-selling, establishing new banking relationships, referring clients to product partners (e.g., Mortgage, Investments, Small Business, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Commercial), educating clients on digital solutions, providing account servicing and maintenance, resolving client servicing issues, and processing.
Relationship Bankers are active in their communities through outreach efforts and service with community organizations.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $17.00/hr.
- $27.50/hr the base salary reflects the range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual offers may vary based on responsibilities, candidate skills and experience, and geographic location.
- Develop and grow client and prospective client relationships – Consults with clients/prospective clients to uncover needs, educate, and advise on product and service alternatives that align with financial objectives. Cross-sell products and services and refer to business product partners to meet client needs. Maintain contact with client base through periodic proactive touch points (on-boarding, service follow up, etc.).
- Achieve Sales and Service Targets – Market a full range of consumer and small business banking services through proactive methods; maintain knowledge of products and services to fulfill client needs; seek coaching to develop service and sales skills and share best practices.
- Operations Oversight – Resolve moderate to complex client service problems using resources from internal departments; educate clients on digital solutions; execute all transactions in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements; follow fraud prevention procedures.
- Culture Leadership – Communication and collaboration to understand client needs and achieve goals.
- Execution Leadership – Drive to achieve goals, solve problems, and collaborate to achieve results.
- Client Leadership – Put client at the forefront and use client insights to guide actions.
- Execute strategies to improve client retention, cross-sell products, proactive outreach, and resolve servicing issues.
- Contribute to financial success by achieving targets for loan production, new accounts, referrals, and digital banking enrollment.
- Acquire new Community Bank relationships through referrals and outreach.
Two levels of Relationship Banker, based on banking experience and training. Licensing or registrations must be maintained. Positions may be based at a specific banking center or support multiple centers in a defined market.
Relationship Banker- Handles transactions and servicing needs after training completion.
- Aims to achieve account opening, partner referrals, lending and credit card goals, and complete client financial profiles.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum one year of relationship-based client consultation and/or consultative sales experience (banking industry a plus)
- Eligible to register with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) or currently NMLS registered
