Sky Water Search Partners is excited to exclusively partner again with our long-term client, a stable and growth-oriented company, to hire a financial reporting manager. In this role, you will be a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for preparing accurate, complete, and timely financial statements, overseeing all external reporting deliverables, coordinating data collection and consolidation, and serving as a subject matter expert for GAAP matters.
You will act as the primary finance contact for external stakeholders, identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve processes, and contribute to a collaborative, culture-focused team where your expertise will directly support the CAO and overall finance function.
To be considered, candidates must be local to the Twin Cities metro area.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee overall external financial reporting operations. Provide accounting guidance with both a hands‑on and big‑picture approach. In addition to direct financial statement and disclosure responsibility, this role will serve as liaison between the internal G/L team and the accounting team. Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages (SEC reporting). Support recurring and ad hoc reporting to the parent company and external stakeholders, including board reports, analyses, and other internal reporting requests.
Perform research to determine correct accounting treatment based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Drive automation of reporting processes within the ERP system. Assist with providing information and documentation in connection with internal and external auditor 10‑K and 10‑Q reviews, financial statement audits, and SOX (Section 404) testing. Supervise preparation and review of industry and competitor analyses, as well as requests from independent stakeholders.
Perform various special projects and analyses, as required. Work extended hours as needed during reporting periods.
- Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Finance or Accounting with a CPA strongly preferred.
- Public accounting experience a strong plus.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
