- Location: Dundee, MI & Plano Willow Bend, TX
We are hiring for one of our prime clients seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead large capital (Capex) projects across the US and Canada. This role focuses on feasibility studies, front-end engineering design, and multi-disciplinary project execution in heavy industrial settings, including cement, aggregates, and related manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Promote a safety culture of “Zero by Choice” and integrate HS&E standards into all engineering activities
- Manage multi-million-dollar industrial capital projects (> $10M) from feasibility through design, layout, and construction
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and interface with contractors, suppliers, and operations
- Develop optimal project designs focusing on lean technical concepts, constructability, and operational efficiency
- Prepare basic engineering documentation, general arrangement drawings, mass flow calculations, and technical appendices
- Conduct technical evaluations of bids and participate in supplier/contractor selection processes
- Review detailed engineering documents, conduct safety and operability assessments, and manage project risks
- Provide technical support to site teams during construction, commissioning, and start-up
- Implement innovative engineering solutions aligned with business objectives
- Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance in all project activities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Efficiency, or related field
- Experience:
- 5–7+ years in an industrial production setting (cement, aggregates, foundry/furnace, or other heavy industries)
- Proven experience in project management, design, and engineering in large-scale industrial projects
- Technical
Skills: - Knowledge of cement plant design, engineering, commissioning, and operations
- Strong understanding of process equipment, material handling, and logistics systems
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines, civil and electrical principles, and construction fundamentals
- Ability to forecast, analyze, and mitigate technical risks
- Additional Requirements:
- Strong leadership, people management, and emotional intelligence
- Business acumen, results-driven, and self-motivated
- Knowledge of safety laws, proactive safety culture, and project management
- Resilient and capable of managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects
- Travel ~30% within USA and Canada
- Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of PPE, including respirators as required
