We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our team in Almont, MI. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC programming and HMI design and implementation. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining control systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety in our manufacturing processes.
About the RoleThe Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining control systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety in our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement PLC programs for automated equipment and machinery.
- Develop and configure Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) to optimize operator interaction and control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and automation processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve system performance and reliability.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain documentation for control systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and software programs.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production staff.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems technology and industry best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure all control systems adhere to safety standards and protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in PLC programming, preferably with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms.
- Experience in designing and implementing HMI interfaces.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to control systems.
