General Summary ofJob Responsibilities
The Senior Lab Technical Analyst performs highly complex, analytical technical work. Leads technical projects or programs, including technical aspects, quoting, customer interface, and logistical planning. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of codes related to testing and analysis. Leads evaluations of new examination methods and technologies and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders for process validation and approval. Uses high-level technical knowledge and judgment to make decisions outside standard acceptance criteria.
Laboratory Services provides technical expertise in calibration, chemistry, nondestructive and materials testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance testing. The team supports professional relationships with clients by demonstrating professionalism, competence, confidence, and trust. The Laboratory performs both laboratory and field work and offers pickup and delivery of equipment and samples requiring special handling.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Laboratory Technical Analyst performs complex analytical, quantitative, and qualitative testing in accordance with industry codes, specifications, and standards. Responsibilities include taking ownership of the value stream, guiding other team members, applying Lean concepts to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control related processes. The role may oversee complex projects with minimal supervision and may assume a leadership role. The Quality Analyst implements Project Quality Management Plans and Inspection Plans and directs quality audits, surveillance, and assessment activities.
The role ensures staff are qualified for their duties, supports project documentation turnovers, and evaluates vendors and suppliers in accordance with project plans and applicable codes. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and critical thinking skills are required, along with knowledge of quality assurance and quality control, problem solving, waste elimination, design/specification development, and audit facilitation.
- High complexity equipment and test method evaluation and validation
- Execute standard examination procedures
- Develop examination procedures and methods with in-depth understanding of applicable industry codes
- Lead and plan long-term technical test plans including protocols, logistics, execution, QA/QC, and report submittals
- Lead long-term projects and programs, maintaining responsibility for all customer-facing aspects
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Scientific field with 4 years of relevant experience
- OR Associate's Degree in a Technical or Scientific field with 6 years of relevant experience
- OR High School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience
- Required Certifications/Licensures: certifications vary by department; career level requires several department-specific certifications
