OverviewJoin our team at the Vicksburg Plant as a Quality Engineer, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of medical device, automotive, and consumer/industrial programs. This position involves managing projects from inception to completion and addressing customer complaints. Specializing in injection molded plastics, with a focus on in‑mold decoration, you will be a key player in product quality, particularly in the medical device segment.
Responsibilities- Interpret and review complex engineering drawings and specifications, applying expert‑level understanding of GD&T to assess product and process compliance.
- Support and perform medical product validation activities, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), and Process Characterization (PC).
- Ensure compliance with industry‑specific standards, including IATF, ISO 9001, and medical device quality and regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in new product launches, ensuring quality requirements are integrated into design, process, and production planning.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard work instructions for inspection, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and evaluate results against design specifications.
- Perform and document risk assessments, process capability studies, and tolerance stack‑ups.
- Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) using structured problem‑solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
- Participate in internal and supplier audits, and support regulatory and customer audits.
- Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Lead or assist with the development of control plans, PFMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
- Analyze nonconformities, trends, and quality data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- 2+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within the automotive and medical device industry.
- Proficiency in engineering drawing review and GD&T.
- Experience working with IATF, ISO 9001, and/or ISO standards.
- Experience working directly with customers as the main point of contact.
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies (control plans, process flow, FMEA, blueprint review).
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding, IQ/OQ/PQ, statistical analysis, PPAP, APQP, supplier quality, CQE, Six Sigma, and Green/Black Belt certifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with IQ/PQ/OQ.
- Knowledge of Plastic Injection Molding.
- Experience with statistical analysis software.
- Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or GD&T Professional Certification.
- Experience with precision measurement tools and CMMs.
The position is based at the Vicksburg Plant, which manufactures injection molded plastics for automotive, defense, medical, and consumer/industrial products. The plant is well‑organized and temperature‑controlled, and the office space consists of cubicles. The role involves spending 60‑70% of the time on the production floor and 30‑40% on desk work and documentation. Work hours are from 7am‑4pm or 8am‑5pm.

Pay And BenefitsPay range for this position is $28.85‑$38.46/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
