Location: Rockford

The Dewatering and Water Treatment Superintendent oversees on-site dewatering and water treatment operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution. This role leads field crews, coordinates equipment and logistics, monitors water quality, and implements treatment solutions in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. The Superintendent works closely with project management, engineers, and clients to drive production, quality, safety, and environmental compliance while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily dewatering and water treatment operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
  • Supervise, mentor, and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators
  • Develop and execute site‑specific dewatering and water treatment plans
  • Monitor water quality, flow rates, and treatment performance to meet discharge requirements
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, permits, and project safety standards
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients on scheduling, resources, and progress reporting
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate operational, safety, and regulatory documentation
  • Conduct site inspections, safety meetings, and risk assessments
  • Manage equipment maintenance, logistics, and assist with cost control
  • Participate in hiring and support overall project production and quality goals
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time based on project type and requirement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of water treatment and/or dewatering experience, preferably on environmental remediation projects
  • 5-7 years of supervisory experience leading field crews and operations
  • Strong leadership, crew management, and decision‑making skills in fast‑paced, field‑based environments
  • Extensive knowledge of dewatering methods and water treatment processes, including regulatory discharge compliance
  • Proven ability to maintain compliance with OSHA, HAZWOPER, confined space, and other applicable safety standards
  • Hands‑on experience with dewatering and water treatment equipment, including pumps, flow meters, and related mechanical/electrical systems
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and allocate resources to meet project demands
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and treatment process documentation
  • Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills under time‑sensitive conditions
