Description
A Thermal Decarbonization Engineer will perform audits, studies, and thermal assessments to solve system issues and provide solutions for customers. The role also involves training sales representatives and supporting sales, marketing, and vertical markets teams.
Key Responsibilities- Visit plants/facilities to identify root causes of issues/problems while collecting information, analyzing thermal systems, and maintaining safety.
- Answer questions and inquiries (phone, e‑mail) from customers, sales, marketing, reps, ATMs, and VMDs.
- Perform studies related to data analysis, calculations (Excel), equipment specifications (Armstrong products and applications), report writing (Word, SAGE), and preparing presentations.
- Develop proposals by communicating with customers and reps to define scope of work, estimate costs, and write proposals.
- Create new and repurpose existing training materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned, not limited to the above.
- 3 years experience in Thermal Utilities is required.
- Knowledge of steam, hot water processes, products, and applications.
- Knowledge of other thermal systems—process heaters, cooling towers, chillers (a plus).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; knowledge of SAGE, Salesforce, IFS (a plus).
- Ability to follow all safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to read drawings and create schematics/drawings.
- Willingness to train/learn the position if applicable.
- Physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time‑management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Collaborates with the current team while building positive professional relationships.
- Ability to remain professional in stressful situations.
- Proficient in using instrumentation to perform measurements and download readings.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, quick thinking, and ability to apply knowledge from one area to another.
- Conveys information and ideas to technical and non‑technical personnel.
- Multitasking—observing, asking questions, understanding/analyzing answers, and taking notes.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Experience Level3–5 years.
Physical Requirements- Will require travel between 25% to 75% of the time to locations within the continental U.S.
- Physically fit to walk and/or stand for long periods while conducting site visits.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
