Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of Outage Manager in its Outage department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI.
Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the nuclear industry and the nation!
Job SummaryThis position has the overall responsibility for leadership, direction and oversight of personnel, functions and activities necessary to develop and execute refueling and forced outages. It will establish an outage organization responsible for outage preparation and execution and develop and monitor adherence to pre-outage milestones, outage scope, and pre outage work and schedules. It will supervise outage-planning section and develop and approve outage schedules.
It will also establish and maintain outage performance indicators based on industry best practices, provide plant management with outage preparation/execution status. It will also develop and execute lessons learned program and final outage reports and critiques. There will also be benchmarking within the industry to achieve outage objectives. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
- Bachelor’s degree/ Technical degree in Engineering or Science or a nuclear Senior Reactor Operator license.
- Ten years of nuclear power experience, including a minimum of five years of experience in one or more of the following areas: work control outage planning/management, maintenance, operations, production planning, engineering or project management. Supervisory experience is required.
- Strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written communications and organizational skills.
- Ability to conceive and champion new and innovative ideas for continuous improvement.
- Proven computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office tools, and industry scheduling software.
