FLUIDCARE is Quaker Houghton’s fluid management program designed to enhance the efficiency of operations at customer facilities. The dedicated teams focus on providing critical insights through reporting and data management, helping clients optimize their fluid usage. This program not only supports fluid optimization but also empowers customers to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding their chemical needs.

Position Summary

Position Summary: Provide advanced level of professional work and technical leadership as on-site representative. May act in place of the Fluidcare Program Manager or Fluidcare Site Manager when not available.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on-site technical and administrative duties in a manufacturing environment.
  • Interaction with customer’s production and technical personnel and suppliers. Act as a consultant to customer on how and when to use chemicals or services in plant. Coordinate with other sites on use of chemicals or services to drive communization and improvements. Makes value proposition to customer for gain sharing.
  • Prepare or design reports and forms using computer systems. Order and record inventory of chemical products. Able to independently input and/or place orders and receive in orders without support.
  • Recognize, initiate, manage and execute projects without assistance. Gathers data and prepares draft project sign off proposals. Assists or directs project work of other Fluidcare Engineers or Fluidcare Technicians. Monitor and/or mentor Fluidcare Engineers.
  • Lead and conduct meetings, anticipate customer requests and needs, deliver concise next steps after reviewing value proposition and best practices. Provide guidance to staff and temporary contractors as appropriate.
  • Implement and follow safety protocols, perform pre-task plan and all preoperational inspections.
  • May be required to collect, analyze, test, interpret and record chemical samples, recommend and complete corrective actions with no direction from site staff. Acquire, record and analyze process and usage data. May need to use familiarity with budgets, month-end closing.
  • May have supervisory duties which include: input on performance appraisals, input on development plans, responsibility for non-exempt associates scheduling, and/or responsibility for sign off of non-exempt employees’ time cards. Perform Site Manager’s duties for short or interim periods.
  • May manage a service account as a single person site primarily engaged in chemical management with limited or no purchasing or supplemental services. May be required to work flexible hours.
  • Work in an office environment and in a manufacturing environment; may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock and trip and slip hazards. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is loud.
  • Expected to travel locally, rarely involves overnight.
  • Ensure a safety mindset throughout designated area of responsibility.
  • Maintain the highest EHS standards while at customer’s site.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience

Five or more years related chemical management service experience with at least one year in specific technical service or metalworking processes.
