When families choose Early Childhood Education at Divine Providence Academy they are enrolling their child in a welcoming individualized nurturing environment centered in God and in service to others . We are a state licensed Child Care program that focuses on the individual needs of each child. Our Saint Joseph campus is seeking a candidate to oversee our Early Childhood program.
We serve infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and oversee a GSRP 4 year old classroom.
Job Goal
The goal of a Divine Providence Academy teacher is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for families and children. The director will work in a collaborative environment to support children as learners and foster independence to get them ready socially and academically. The director will oversee staff to ensure all licensing requirements are in place.
Qualifications for Early Childhood Director (Candidates must meet one of the following state licensing requirements:)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or child development.
OR - Bachelor’s degree or higher in a child-related field with 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development and 480 hours of experience. (A child-related field means elementary education, child counseling, child psychology, family studies, social work, or special education.)
OR - Montessori credential with 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development and 480 hours of experience.
OR - Associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development with 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development and 480 hours of experience.
OR - Valid child development associate credential with 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development and 960 hours of experience.
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of Michigan Child Care Licensing rules
- Experience with Great Start to Quality
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day to day runnings of the Early Childhood Program
- Oversee Childcare Licensing, Staffing, and Scheduling.
- Oversee Great Start to Quality Admin Duties.
- Communicate regularly with parents, staff and Principal
- Complete monthly billing for DPA and DHS students.
- Administer the Ages and Stages Questionnaire when scheduled to ensure milestones are being met.
- Maintain a positive working environment, rooted in Christ.
- Work directly with the Principal and Pastor
