SUBSTITUTE BEFORE SCHOOL & NOON HOUR SUPERVISOR - ELEMENTARY LEVEL

Summary:
To provide assistance for children during lunch, before or after school. This person must supervise students to ensure a positive safe environment during recess time, lunch and getting on/off the school bus.
- Supervises students at playtime and lunchtime and maintains a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
- Organizes group games and activities during recess.
- Assumes responsibility to report any defects in playground equipment.
- Directs movement of groups to and from the playground, lunchroom, school bus and classrooms in a safe and organized manner.
- Assists students in the lunchroom clean up.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
