Work ScheduleFull-time;
Five (5) days per week
According to the Terms of the Master Agreement for AFT Michigan
Starting Date2026‑2027 School Year
Job ObjectiveTo provide direct education services to students with disabilities focusing primarily on daily living skills, prevocational, and career preparation and exploration areas.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field of study is required.
- Valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate.
- Possess an endorsement in special education that is valid in grades K-12.
- Endorsement as a Teacher of students with disabilities, as defined by the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education, including R340.1781 is required.
- Endorsement as defined by the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education, including R340.1786, R340.1799, R340.1788 is preferred.
- Experience working with special education students specifically cognitive impairment and autism spectrum disorder.
- Experience teaching or supporting secondary students with disabilities, preferably in a transition-focused, functional skills, or community-based setting.
- Valid Michigan Driver's License.
