Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Academy is seeking a middle school math teacher for the  school year. This teacher would be the 7th grade Homeroom teacher in addition to teaching Math in 5th-8th grades. Qualifications/Requirements:

• All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan.
• All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach.
• All teachers who are catechist (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools.

Every teacher is a member of the professional staff with responsibilities in the areas of instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, student/parent relations, faith life, and community relations.

Candidates should possess the following skills and classroom practices:

• Modeling and facilitating daily prayer in the classroom along with active participation/planning of school liturgies and prayer services
• Establishment of a classroom environment that develops the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of all children
• Integrates technology as a tool for learning and instruction
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• A willingness for collaboration
• Management of a safe and nurturing environment
• Development of relationships with parents to encourage communication regarding their child's growth and development
• Develop lesson plans to promote spiritual, academic, physical, social and emotional growth
• Completion of Protecting God’s Children training, Fingerprinting and Background Check
• Must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools, or working towards certification
