Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or higher

- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate

- Endorsements in Science (DX/DI and DA is encouraged) - 2nd Certification is highly encouraged and preferred

Responsibilities:

- Prepare course objectives, outlines, and instruction for course of study following district and state guidelines and requirements

- Integration of appropriate media and technology into teaching and learning practices to maximize instruction time and motivate students

- Establish and enforce classroom management procedures consistent with district, PBIS and MTSS initiatives

- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests

- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstrations, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate

- Prepare, administer, and grade assessments and assignments with feedback to evaluate students' progress

- Knowledge of standards based, proficiency based practices in the subject area

- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and district colleagues

- Demonstrate ability to sustain and improve student achievement outcomes

- Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement

- Familiarity with Capturing Kids' Hearts program
