Non-Instructional Assistant

Summary of Duties

To provide assistance and supervision to students during the lunch and recess program. This person supervises students to insure a positive safe environment during the lunch and recess periods.

Reports to Building Principal

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• The employee supervises students during lunch and recess and is directly responsible for their safety and well-being
• Assures the cafeteria is clean by removing trash, wiping tables and cleaning spills as needed
• Directs movement of students within the cafeteria/playground boundaries to assure smooth transition of students from lunch to recess time
• Assists students as needed
• Prefer knowledge or experience with upper elementary students

Compensation

Per DESPA Union Contract, Class III - 08 position

Work Schedule

1.75 hour/day position; schedule as determined by Building Principal
