Drafting Design - Casework Division

Creative Surfaces, Inc is looking for a detail oriented CAD Drafter in our Casework Division. This role will be responsible to draw and manage projects from concept, development, through the manufacturing process. Position offers competitive salary, paid time off, Insurance and 401k.

• Interpret architectural prints, sketches, notes, etc., and turn them into workable shop drawings for the production shop to fabricate from.
• Communicate directly with architects, interior designers or customers to provide an exceptional product that meets and/or exceeds their expectations.
• Communicate onsite conditions with jobsite superintendents and project managers to ensure the installation of product will go smoothly.
• Maintain attention to detail to take a concept to a successful final project quickly and accurately.
• Prepare shop drawing documentation.
• Work independently as well as effectively as part of a team.
• Manage multiple projects with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
• Predict task time requirements and meet deadlines; visualize product and conditions to foresee potential issues.
• Perform all other duties assigned.

• A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Architectural Engineering OR a two-year post-high school diploma/certificate in Architectural Engineering/Design or related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to interpret architectural prints, sketches, notes, etc., and turn them into workable shop drawings for the production shop.
• Must be able to communicate directly with architects, interior designers or directly with customers to provide an exceptional product that meets and/or exceeds expectations.
• Experience preparing shop drawing documentation.
• Self-motivated to work independently as well as effectively in a team.
• Strong organizational and time management ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to predict task time requirements and meet deadlines; foresee potential issues related to product and conditions.

• Construction process experience (hands-on or through communication).
• AutoCAD experience.
• IMOS software experience preferred.
• Experience in the casework/counter top industry.
