Job Summary

Design Squad Media is hiring a full-time Videographer / Photographer with a strong eye for cinematic storytelling. You’ll create high-quality video and photo content for marketing campaigns across social media, websites, and digital ads. This role supports both field production and post-production, and includes occasional drone/aerial capture. This position is a great fit for a new graduate or early‑career creative who is dependable, eager to learn, and ready to build a real portfolio in a fast‑moving marketing environment.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Production
  • Collaborate with the team to plan projects including concepts, shot lists, storyboards, simple scripts, and schedules.
  • Scout locations and prepare gear, audio, and lighting needs for shoot days.
  • Coordinate production logistics for smooth shoot days (timelines, locations, deliverables).
Production (Cinematic Video + Audio)
  • Capture cinematic footage using professional camera techniques (composition, movement, exposure, lighting).
  • Record clean audio using lavalier and boom microphone workflows.
  • Manage basic on‑set lighting and adapt to different shooting environments.
  • Represent Design Squad Media professionally while working on client sites.
Photography
  • Capture still photography for marketing use (people, products, spaces, events, and brand content).
  • Edit and deliver polished images using a professional workflow (Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar).
Drone / Aerial (as needed)
  • Capture aerial photo and video content as assigned.
Post-Production
  • Edit videos end-to-end including selects, pacing, sound design, music, color correction, and final exports.
  • Create platform‑specific deliverables for social media, websites, paid ads, and other marketing channels.
  • Add basic motion graphics and titles using brand templates and guidelines.
  • Maintain organized project files and consistent export settings.
Produce / Technical‑Director
  • Produce and/or technical‑direct live and recorded productions, including company webcasts and executive announcements.
Organization & Equipment Care
  • Organize footage and project files with clear naming and version control.
  • Maintain production equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Portfolio demonstrating videography, editing, and photography (student work is welcome).
  • Experience with at least one professional editing platform:
    Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
  • Strong understanding of camera operation, shot composition, lighting fundamentals, and audio recording.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to receive feedback professionally.
  • Ability to lift and transport production equipment (approximately 25–50 lbs).
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, or a related field is preferred but not required with a strong portfolio.
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Minor in Marketing or coursework in marketing, advertising, or digital media.
  • Basic motion graphics experience (After Effects or similar).
  • Color grading experience (Log footage, LUT workflows).
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate already completed.
