Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Manager for a permanent assignment to oversee and manage daily construction activities on site. The role involves conducting regular inspections, interpreting plans and specifications, and coordinating with office architects and engineers to ensure project progress. The Construction Manager will also be responsible for recording daily reports, cost estimating, scheduling, and providing bid support, among other duties.

Responsibilities

+ Monitor daily construction activities and maintain project progress.

+ Conduct regular inspections and observations of the construction site.

+ Interpret construction plans and specifications accurately.

+ Coordinate with office architects and engineers.

+ Record daily reports and coordinate construction and plant activities.

+ Perform cost estimating and scheduling.

+ Support the bidding process.

+ Conduct, coordinate, and document progress meetings.

+ Track change orders and resolve field issues.

+ Answer Requests for Information (RFIs).

+ Coordinate shop drawings and punch lists.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of proven experience in commercial construction management.

+ Strong skills in commercial construction, change orders, and construction inspection.

+ Proficient in interpreting blueprints and coordinating with architects and engineers.

Skills & Qualifications

+ Computer proficiency in Construction Management.

+ Consideration for candidates with significant experience even without a degree.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position at a manufacturing facility in Newaygo County, MI. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $46.00/hr.
