Construction Field Supervisor

Job Summary: Supervises employees responsible for day‑to‑day planning and execution of construction projects performed by company and contractor personnel. Ensures projects are planned and built in accordance with company standards, specifications, schedules and requirements, yielding maximum return on investment (ROI). Oversees construction permitting activities and interfaces with contractor and company staff to optimize resource allocation. Works with construction planning personnel to prioritize and schedule projects.

Leads continuous improvement efforts for the team.

• Ensures contractors build facilities in accordance with company standards and procedures and maintain appropriate crew operator qualification standards.
• Oversees construction schedules and coordinates construction activities with other appropriate areas.
• Maintains up‑to‑date construction action plans and communicates them for workload prioritization.
• Resolves escalated construction project concerns and works with contractors, customers, agencies, etc., to determine project and scheduling solutions.
• Reviews as‑built drawings before payment to contractor is approved.
• Collaborates with the construction planning group on technical designs and cost‑effective installations.
• Applies new construction materials, practices and technologies as appropriate for the project.
• Identifies and implements process and procedure changes that increase efficiencies.
• Monitors staff workload to ensure activities are planned in accordance with their priority and productivity, implementing workload adjustments if standards are not met.
• Ensures resources and workloads are balanced so projects are appropriately prioritized and executed.
• Acts as liaison between union and management, ensuring consistent application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
• Guides continuous improvement initiatives: designing processes, establishing quality/quantity standards & metrics, collecting best practices, and developing staff.
• Drives key tag protection leadership or job leadership as per corporate policy, performing core supervisory/management functions including planning, organizing, directing performance, staffing, time entry, coordinating, reporting & budgeting.

• Associate's degree or certificate in engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management.
• Renewables Energy, Underground/Overhead, Sub‑Station, or Civil Trades experience and/or journeyman electrician certification.

• Proficiency in applicable software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Maximo) with minimal instruction.
• Experience managing multiple projects and dealing with customers.
• Effective verbal and written communication with individuals at all levels.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify key issues and recommend optimal solutions.
• Thorough knowledge of project management concepts, processes, and project controls related to design, procurement and construction management.
• Ability to apply project planning, implementation and/or continuous improvement principles to achieve tangible, positive outcomes.
• Capability to deal effectively with resistance and prevent recurrence of errors through constructive critique.

Pay Range: $70.00/hr – $75.00/hr (W2)
