Position Summary
Key individual contributor position working in a cross-functional team environment. The area of responsibility of this role is to drive all aspects of commercial execution and improvement within the business unit, with a focus on new business development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing proposals, pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and customer relationship management. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional communication and analytical skills, who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and enable business growth through effective deployment of commercial strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides execution support for the Business Unit [HDT], Sales, and Marketing Strategy.
- Is the point of contact for strategic business development of in-house accounts.
- Assists with management of the outside representative team.
- Maintains Amendments and Changes to Long Term Agreements
- Assists in improvement of the commercial performance of the BU.
- Launches, oversees, and delivers comprehensive strategic proposals for aerospace products and services based on best practices, customer requirements, and market conditions.
- Collaborates closely with internal teams such as sales, engineering, and production to ensure accurate cost estimation and timely response to customer inquiries.
- Put together in-depth proposals for competitive bids using pricing policy and other necessary analysis.
- Maintain the BU CRM data for in-house strategic opportunities.
- Follow up on in-house business development opportunities with the customer and/or Outside Sales Representative and tracks opportunity results success or failure.
- Analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and cost structures to develop and implement effective pricing strategies.
- Regularly review and update pricing models to maintain competitiveness and maximize profitability while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Identify and propose improvement options for unfavorable gross margins; coordinate actions with BU Director and Customer Service Representative [CSR] Supervisor.
- Assists in setting and execution of BU pricing policies with CSR Supervisor and BU Director.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers through introduction/cold-calling, regular communication, account management, and personalized engagement.
- Conduct periodic surveys and assessments from customers regarding products, services, capacity, and overall satisfaction.
- Supports Outside sales and BU Director visits at customer sites as required.
- Assists in the preparation and completion of Long-Term Agreements and Contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractual agreements and negotiate favorable terms to optimize business outcomes.
- Oversees implementation of annual pricing adjustment clauses, including calculation of new prices, review of relevant indices, and customer interfaces.
- Manage and update the commissioned representative payment system working with Finance.
- Interfaces with marketing and outside vendors and leads budgeting, preparation, and execution of trade shows.
- Supports marketing on social media updates.
- Assist Customer Service Team when necessary.
- Complete weekly/bi-weekly analysis of current material shortages that affect large commercial customers and communicate potential delivery delays.
- Initiate process for new parts to be set up and established in China facility.
- Complete analysis of customer order reports and contest orders that were incorrectly marked as late deliveries to improve overall performance scorecard.
- Achieve annual sales revenue targets
- Maintain a strong, accurate pipeline and meets forecasting expectations
- Deliver exceptional customer service measured by retention and satisfaction scores
- Drives strategic growth through new opportunities, account expansion, and market insight
- Four (4) years of college or equivalent with an emphasis on business exposure.
