Plant Manager – Multi‑Site (Beaverton & Williamsburg, MI)

Join Saint‑Gobain North America as a Plant Manager managing manufacturing locations across two sites. This role is a result of an internal promotion and offers a unique chance to lead continuous improvement in Life Sciences operations.

Why do we need you?

We need a proactive leader to drive safety, profitability, cost reduction, and employee engagement across our Beaverton and Williamsburg facilities. The Plant Manager will report to senior leadership and oversee Engineering, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Operational Excellence, Production, HSE, and indirectly Counsel on Customer Service and Applications Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all operations related to production and shipment across both plants, including Materials Management, Manufacturing Systems, Facilities Engineering/Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Shipping & Receiving, Process Engineering, and Purchasing.
  • Manage plant staff across Human Resources and Finance functions, preparing operational plans and budgets and reporting performance versus plans.
  • Design and administer effective Human Resources programs to support career development, succession planning, and leadership within the facilities.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, lead cost improvement initiatives, and drive state‑of‑the–art processing via the WCM program; prepare and submit CAPEX projects for efficiency gains.
  • Ensure full environmental compliance, plant safety, and serve as the primary facility liaison with other functions and external contacts.
  • Represent the company to stakeholders, fostering relationships that enable process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials, Manufacturing, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (required);
    Master’s Degree in Business or related field (preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, management, and people development (required); experience in medical device, biopharma, or life sciences preferred.
  • Experience managing remotely across multiple sites (required).
  • Strong ability to build relationships with cross‑functional teams and corporate contacts (required).
  • Comprehensive understanding of P&L, cost accounting, cash flow, capital management, and budgeting (required).
  • Knowledge of materials and inventory control, production scheduling, and manufacturing engineering (required).
  • Safety‑oriented management style with a proven track record (required).
  • Excellent communication, team‑building, and leadership skills with a hands‑on approach (required).
  • Travel up to 20% for trainings and business meetings.
