Cost Accountant - Ludington Area

Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and report on root causes and trends.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and analyses to support management decision-making.
• Manage inventory valuation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for cost of goods sold.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries related to inventory and COGS.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL or VBA for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience with ERP system implementations or significant module upgrades.
• Understanding of supply chain finance principles.
