Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Headhunters have once again been exclusively engaged by a profitable Metro Detroit contractor to find an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their accounting team in Rochester Hills. This is a wonderful opportunity for a 1+ year accounts receivable specialist or administrative professional that is looking for the next step in their career. Must be tech savvy and proficient with systems with exceptional communication skills.

The role is fully onsite and will require relationship building skills and diligence in following up with customers. Base compensation is up to $60K, plus bonus and very generous benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accurate cash application of payments, reconciliation of daily deposits, including electronic payments (ACH/wire), physical checks, and credit card transactions
• Support the accounting team with monthly contract overview entry and discrepancy reconciliations
• Maintain accurate details from customers and data by ensuring payment, remittance terms, and ACH details are valid and timely maintained
• Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances and coordinate payment arrangements
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks such as advising leadership re: payment status, resolution of late payments, reconciliations, backup support for other accounting functions and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting.
• Functional understanding of accounts receivable processes like cash application, accurately reconciling payment records, and properly using systems.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, desired not required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
