Accountant, Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

Location: Buchanan, Michigan (100% On-site)
Salary Range: $55,000 – $68,000 annually

A well-established employer in the Buchanan, Michigan area is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join their accounting team. This Accountant role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring strong internal controls. The Accountant will work closely with accounting and finance leadership in a structured, collaborative environment that supports long-term growth and professional development.

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

• Perform general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed

• Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and internal reporting

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls

• Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed

• Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and efficiencies

• 2+ years of accounting or general ledger experience

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting

• Experience with accounting or ERP systems (Quick Books, Sage, Net Suite, Dynamics, or similar) preferred

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
