Horizon Building Group is in search of a Financial Controller to lead and oversee all company accounting functions.
Responsibilities- Receive and distribute vendor invoices for approval
- Record invoices in accounting software
- Deposit and record client payments
- Distribute and collect lien waivers
- Prepare monthly applications for payment (AIA G702/G703/sworn statements)
- Update work-in-progress (WIP) report monthly
- Book credit card charges and payments in accounting software
- Oversee payroll & coordinate with payroll service
- Produce monthly financial statements
- Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with yearly budget planning
- Provide monthly cashflow projections
- Track AR aging
- Develop accounting standard operating procedure (SOP)
- Suggest software and process improvements
- Obtain and track vendor compliances (W9s, Certificates of Insurance, Safety Programs, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or similar)
- Five years’ experience in construction accounting (preferably for GC/CM)
- Proficiency with common industry software
- Notary (preferred)
- Self-motivated
