Cost Accountant - DeWitt Area

Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Perform detailed variance analysis, identifying root causes for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
• Manage inventory valuation, including work-in-process and finished goods, ensuring accuracy and proper accounting.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts related to production costs.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and process improvements within manufacturing operations.
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries for cost of goods sold and inventory adjustments.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods, and variance analysis.
• Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.
• Advanced Excel modeling and VBA proficiency.
