Overview
SUMMARY:
This dual function role will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials for our new and existing products. This role provides hands-on support in the lab or production floor, assisting in developing/modify products.
- Create and maintain all product BOMs in the company's ERP system for all new products and revisions.
- Ensure manufacturability of all new fabricated items through a focused and documented trial process for new product quotes.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to BOM discrepancies and work order execution.
- Will need to understand how all production equipment operates and produces finished parts for understanding of BOMs and new product developments.
- Perform a variety of tests on new materials, components, and assemblies to gather data on performance and reliability with documentation.
- Assist in product developments, and document control of developed products. Along with MERV testing of products and logging test reports.
- Provides hands-on technical support for the development and validation of new products including running R&D pilot line.
- Assist in planning and developing PTRs (Production Trial Runs) or assisting production with quality/equipment issues.
- Maintain, operate, and calibrate standard laboratory or technical equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment and follow all company and government safety regulations.
Education and/or Experience: Preferred bachelor's degree (B.
A.) from a four-year college/university; or a minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment, with experience in both hands-on technical work and BOM management.
Language Skills: Communicate effectively with R&D and manufacturing teams to resolve BOM discrepancies and support new product introductions. The ability to create precise, detailed, and clear documentation across platforms (Word/Excel).
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques to practical situations. Able to convert multiple units of measure used in textile industry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
