Position: Inventory Manager - Michigan City, IN

Inventory Manager – Michigan City, IN WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and operational efficiency
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records
  • Analyze inventory data and prepare month end reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate closely with the purchasing team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of inventory
  • Collaborate with inventory leads across multiple sites to maintain consistent and efficient inventory practices
  • Communicate inventory status and insights to cross-functional teams, providing actionable recommendations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update inventory management systems and databases as required
  • Partner with other departments to improve inventory-related processes and implement best practices
  • Lead, train, and develop inventory staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Identify obsolete, excess, or slow-moving inventory and implement strategies to minimize losses
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with inventory policies and procedures
  • Ensure inventory storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of inventory management experience
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
