Inventory Manager – Michigan City, IN WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and operational efficiency
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records
- Analyze inventory data and prepare month end reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Coordinate closely with the purchasing team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of inventory
- Collaborate with inventory leads across multiple sites to maintain consistent and efficient inventory practices
- Communicate inventory status and insights to cross-functional teams, providing actionable recommendations
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update inventory management systems and databases as required
- Partner with other departments to improve inventory-related processes and implement best practices
- Lead, train, and develop inventory staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
- Identify obsolete, excess, or slow-moving inventory and implement strategies to minimize losses
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with inventory policies and procedures
- Ensure inventory storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of inventory management experience
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require
- Willingness to travel occasionally
