We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Associate to join our team in Miamisburg, OH. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping logistics and be responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of goods to ensure timely delivery and efficient return processes.
Shipping logistics focuses on planning, executing, and controlling the movement of goods from origin to destination efficiently and cost-effectively.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Selecting carriers and transport modes
- Scheduling shipments and optimizing routes
- Coordinating with freight forwarders and transport providers
- Preparing shipping documents (bill of lading, invoices, packing lists)
- Ensuring compliance with customs, trade regulations, and incoterms
- Managing import/export clearance and duties
- Aligning shipments with inventory levels and production schedules
- Coordinating loading, unloading, and storage
- Monitoring stock in transit
- Tracking shipping costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Managing freight invoices and audits
- Monitoring shipment status and transit times
- Handling delays, damages, or lost cargo
- Providing updates to internal teams
- Addressing disruptions (weather, port congestion, customs issues)
- Coordinating with suppliers, carriers, customs brokers, and customers
- Responding to shipping inquiries and delivery issues
- Experience in shipping logistics or related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer Literate, (Excel, Word, ERP systems)
Employees must be able to talk, hear, and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close and color vision and focus adjustment. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and explosives.
Noise levels can be very loud, requiring ear protection.
