Your ImpactThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment with a primary focus on the paint line and related mechanical systems. Reporting to the Metals Operations Manager, this role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports safe, efficient production operations. The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with a solid mechanical foundation and a preferred electrical background.
YourDay-to-Day Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and support paint line operations to ensure consistent performance, quality, and uptime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment as issues arise.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors, and related systems.
- Replace, repair, and rebuild components including motors, bearings, gearboxes, sensors, and controls.
- Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Support equipment installation, upgrades, and process improvements as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Operations teams to support manufacturing goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance processes, and overall plant performance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification, trade school, or apprenticeship in Maintenance, Electrical, or Industrial Technology preferred.
- 5+ years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Working knowledge of industrial equipment including conveyors, motors, pumps, and automated systems.
- Experience supporting paint lines or coating systems strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a sense of urgency and ownership.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
